Frostburg, MD - In a significant breakthrough, law enforcement officials have apprehended Jack LaSota, the alleged leader of the cult-like "Zizian" group, which has been linked to a series of killings across the United States. LaSota, along with two other individuals, was taken into custody in Frostburg, Maryland, on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

The arrests come after a months-long investigation that intensified following the killing of US Border Patrol Agent David Maland in Vermont last month. The Zizian group has also been connected to five other deaths in three different states, raising concerns about the group's motives and reach.

LaSota, who uses she/her pronouns and identifies as a transgender woman, is known online as "Ziz." Her blog and writings reveal a complex and sometimes disturbing ideology that blends elements of radical veganism, gender identity, and artificial intelligence.

The other two individuals arrested alongside LaSota have been identified as Michelle Zajko, 32, of Media, Pennsylvania, and Daniel Blank, 26, of Sacramento, California. All three face charges including trespassing, obstructing and hindering, and possession of a handgun in a vehicle.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the full extent of the evidence linking the Zizian group to the killings, but they have indicated that the investigation is ongoing. The arrests of LaSota, Zajko, and Blank represent a major step forward in unraveling the group's activities and bringing those responsible for the violence to justice.
