Nebraska State Trooper Killed by Snow Plow

Greenwood, NE - A Nebraska State Patrol trooper was killed in the line of duty on Monday, February 17, 2025, while responding to a crash on Interstate 80. Trooper Kyle McAcy, a 10-year veteran of the force, was struck by a snow plow while outside of his patrol car assisting at the scene of a previous accident.
Trooper McAcy was a dedicated public servant and a respected member of the Nebraska State Patrol. His death is a tragic loss for the agency and the community.
The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
Trooper McAcy was a 10-year veteran of the Nebraska State Patrol. He was assigned to Troop B in Omaha. McAcy was a graduate of the Nebraska State Patrol Training Academy.
"Trooper McAcy was a dedicated public servant who was committed to protecting the citizens of Nebraska," said Colonel Mark Stroh, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. "He was a respected member of the Nebraska State Patrol, and he will be deeply missed."
Trooper McAcy is survived by his wife and their two children.
