Shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia Leaves Multiple Casualties

In a tragic incident today, Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, was the scene of a devastating shooting. Authorities have confirmed at this hour that at least four people were killed and approximately 30 others injured. One suspect is in custody.
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of an active shooter at approximately 10:23 a.m. The school was immediately placed on lockdown. There is a heavy police presence, including federal agents, at the the scene. Emergency personnel and helicopters were dispatched to transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
Governor Brian Kemp has directed state resources to assist local authorities in the ongoing investigation and has urged Georgians to pray for the safety of those affected.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this hour. Authorities have cautioned that it may take several days to gather all the necessary information.
